Martial Artists Compete

Chuck Cawthon's Contemporary Martial Arts had nine students compete at Mushindo Fight Cup Karate Tournament in Smyrna where they captured several top finishes on Saturday Jan. 18th. Josue Bravo, pictured standing on left, earned a gold medal in point fighting, gold medal in semi-knockdown fighting and a gold medal in continuous fighting. Zander Neeley, standing second from left, took a bronze medal in point fighting and a silver medal in semi-knockdown fighting. Isaac Cooper, standing third from left, earned a silver medal in point fighting. Billy Hammock, standing fourth from left, wona silver medal in semi-knockdown fighting and fourth place in point fighting. Juda Sanders, fifth from left, took home a silver medal in point fighting. Hunter Benton, sixth form left, captured a gold medal in point fighting. Devin Ellison, pictured first from left kneeling, earned a silver medal in point fighting. Beverly Peterson, second from left kneeling, earned a silver medal in point fighting. Beve won a gold medal in point fighting. Andreas Goldau, not pictured, finished with a bronze medal in point fighting.

Karate Stuedents Compete

Chuck Cawthon's Contemporary Martial Arts had four students compete and capture medals at the Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Federation Greenville, S.C Championship on Feb. 22, held at Imagine Sports Fitness. Pictured, front and cernter, is Dawson Moss who earned gold medal in no gi and a silver medal in gi. Pictured left is Harrison Krause who earned gold medal in no gi and a gold medal in gi. Pictured right is Noah Wyckoff who earned a silver medal and a bronze medal, both in gi. Not pictured is Chase Pritchett who took a silver medal in no gi.

Martial Artist Make Podium

Chuck Cawthon's Contemporary Martial Arts had three Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students compete at Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Federation's South Carolina State Championship tournament held on Saturday, Aug 8th inside the Upwards Star Center in Spartenburg, S.C. Noah Wyckoff, pictured left, took a silver medal in the 14-15 years / White or gray with white 146-155lbs gi division, silver medal in gi 16-17 years White belt 176-185 lbs division. Wyckoff is a rising freshman at Hart County High School. Brandon Moss, pictured center, captured first place in men's heavyweight (214-225 lbs) advanced no gi division, silver medal in men's go heavyweight brown belt division. Moss is a sergeant at the Madison County Sheriff's Office. Harrison Krause, pictured right, secured a gold medal in the 12-13 years (imtermediate) 86-95 lbs no gi division. Krause is a rising 8th-grader at Hart County Middle School.

Three junior students from Chuck Cawthon's Contemporary Martial Arts Compete at the Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Federation's Georgia State Championship held on Saturday, Aug. 29th at the Suwanee Sports Academy. Pictured from left to right are; Harrison Krause, silver medal in the gi division, and silver medal in the no-gi division; Kenly Evenson, gold medal in the no-gi division, and two silver medals in the no-gi division. Fighter Wins Debut Bout

Tyler Barber, from Chuck Cawthon's Contemporary Martial Arts in Hartwell, made his amateur MMA ( Mixed Martial Arts ) at the Buckhead Saloon in Buckhead. Barber won via TKO (Technical Knockout) when the referee stopped the fight in the first round. Barber's opponent was Pierce Copeland, who trains out of Independent MMA and Fitness in Newnan. Pcitured are Cee Jay hamilton, Tyler Barber and Chuck Cawthon.
